What is the best way to quit smoking?

What is the best way to quit smoking?

Believe it or not, one of the most effective ways is to quit "cold turkey". That's right, the hardest way has one of the highest rates of success. Going cold turkey simply means you quit smoking by just stopping.

No patches, no herbs, no subsititues, nothing.

It's hard on the body and the subconsious aspects of the habit, but sometimes a clean break is best.

Now there are other ways of course. Acupunture, herbs, patches, rationing, hypnosis and they all have a certain rate of success, some higher than others.

What works for one may not work for another. There is no "best way to quit smoking", but it is best to start now. Right now.

What's a second hand smoker?

What's a second hand smoker? Someone who breathes second hand smoke. Secondhand smoke comes from both the smoke that smokers exhale (called mainstream smoke) and the smoke floating from the end of the cigarette, cigar, or pipe (called sidestream smoke).

It may seem pretty harmless, but secondhand smoke actually contains thousands of chemicals — from arsenic and ammonia to hydrogen cyanide — many of which have been proven to be toxic or to cause cancer (called carcinogens).

So please be careful. Smoking may very well be your choice, but you may be causing someone else to be a second hand smoker when they wouldn't choose that for themselves.

What are the contents of a cigarette?

What are the contents of a cigarette? There's almost 600 ingredients in a cigarette. It is often claimed that many of these are used safely as food additives. One significant issue is that while all these chemical compounds have been approved as additives to food, they were not tested by burning. Burning changes the properties of chemicals. More than 4,000 chemical compounds are created by burning a cigarette.

Here's a sample, selected at random.

What are digital cigarettes?

An electronic cigarette, sometimes called a personal vaporizer, is an electric device that allows someone to "smoke" doses of nicotine. Provides the nicotine, flavor, and a sensation like inhaled tomacco smoke even though no tobacco, smoke, or combustion actually takes place. It does this via a vaporized solution.

So no second hand smoke concernes, no worries about smoking around babies or people with health problems. Of course it should be pointed out, that it's far better to quit smoking altogether. However, if you are going to refuse to give up smoking, this is a viable alternative.

And that is what digital cigarettes are.
